Day 4 of 3 Day Mini Raw Course - Huh?

Hehehe    Well officially we started on Monday, so it would have been over on Wednesday.  "How did you do?", you ask.   I'm not sure I wanna say.   Just kidding.   We did ok.   Since it was the whole family, it was a tab bit difficult.   I just can't have a shake 3 times a day.  Unfortunately we had some chicken thawed out for the weekend and didn't cook it.   I had to make it Monday.   We had shakes all day, then for dinner, we had baked chicken with raw veggies.   On Tuesday, we had more green shakes.   I try to make them sweet so all can enjoy them.   I use honey, agave or fruit for that.  Unfortunately hubby wanted to go to a movie and I still haven't let popcorn go.   I just can't go to a movie and not have it.   Yes, I caved to the craving.   I'm really ok with it though.   I have plenty of water and green shakes throughout the day to make me feel ok with that.     Wednesday we had a green "lemonade".  I used kale, lemon and apple.   That's including regular green shakes  It needs to vary so that we don't get the same vitamins and minerals thereby creating an imbalance.  My 9 yr old has the most problems.   He, of course, wants soda, chips, ice cream, so I made cookies.   I guess you can call them chocolate macaroons.

He begins to have withdrawals.  I know when its time to make what he calls "real" food.  He starts bouncing off the walls, getting angry or overly sensitive, and when he sees the food won't eat.   Yes, I know he will eat it if he's hungry enough.   I just don't want to make him hate it.   Food should be a pleasure.   Its what nourishes us and brings people together.   After all isn't that what we go to parties for?   I have never been to a party where they don't at least have some ordevours.  These hit the spot.  They are made with coconut oil, tahini, unsweetened cocoa powder, carob powder, walnuts, and honey for sweetener.

Here's dinner:

Yum!  I love guacamole.   I even went back for (shh) thirds.   hehehe   Oh well.  I'm not that shy.   I don't do it all the time.   I have to say its one of my favorites.   The cucumbers give it that crunch I need.   Hey! It's summer time anyway.   Too hot for a cooked meal.

Well that's that for this post.   Still trying to be positive, keep smiling, and be happy.   Ditto for you too I hope.  Ta ta!

Day 1 of a 3 day Raw Mini Course

Yay!!  Today is the day!   (as my kids would say, lol)  We will begin a 3 day Raw only mini course.   I needed it.   The weekend makes me crazy.   We are on the go so much that I get lazy.   I'm sure you know what I mean.   It's just easier....and there are no dishes to wash.  So it's definitely time for a jump start back into raw.

I will be receiving recipes and encouragement from this group:  http://www.greensmoothiequeen.com/ .   So far so good.   I have already received some emails with recipes.   The support is good too.   I received a tidbit on chlorophyll, the 5 W's of Green Shakes and some laughs.  Lol!  Never too much of that.

Not that making green shakes is hard.   It just sounds hard.   Mostly because of the color.   hahaha   It's something to get used to.   Sometimes I still find it hard to believe that some people have to ask, "How do you make it?"  It's a shake.   What's so hard about that?   Well, it just doesn't sound very appetizing and certainly doesn't look very appealing.   Blech!  The amazing thing is that once you learn to make them, the taste is so unexpected.  I mean what kind of person thinks KALE sounds good to drink?!  It doesn't.   I thought of the V8 drinks (without the tomato).  They disguise vegetables with fruit.   They have the idea unfortunately they are a processed product.   Not fresh.  No sugar added.   No live enzymes.    A green shake on the other hand is ALIVE!  Vibrant color!  Full of oxygen for your blood cells! Delicious and nutritious!  The simplest way is bananas, berries and 1 green item.   It can be spinach, kale, collards greens, even lettuce.  When you go to the produce section of your store, just take a look around.   Be creative.   Try any green that appeals to you.   They are all good and have so much nutrition and healing properties.   You will certainly notice positive effects at least within 3 days.   If nothing else, you will be going to the potty way more than usual.   This cleans you out and detoxes all those bad foods, processed foods, and anything else that needs to be eliminated.

A drink I made
  yesterday.
  • coconut meat and water
  • oranges
  • lime juice
  • bananas
  • organic pure vanilla extract
Yum!

A healthy start!

Today's fresh start!

Well, that's enough of that for now.   Think positive, smile and be happy!
